The distinction, which will be presented in September, in Rotterdam, in the Netherlands, was created by the Italian Cristian Gadau and by the company TBC MediaCorp, and highlights the cook, to the detriment of the restaurant. In total, there are 100 nominees, most of whom are from France, Spain, the United States, Brazil, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
According to The Best Chef Awards, the voting will start on April 1, and all chefs nominated last year, and new candidates for this year, will be invited to vote for their colleagues. They are joined by “a selection of culinary professionals, photographers, foodies who will be asked to vote for their favourite chefs”. A novelty is a distinction in the Science category, which will reward a cook who excels in research, experimental techniques and transformation. The Best Chef fol-LOVERS award, which celebrates the opinion of the audience on social networks, remains.
The event, scheduled for September 21, 22 and 23, in addition to hosting the award ceremony, will also host the Food Meets Science conference, debates with chefs, kitchen enthusiasts and experts on different topics.
