The 1905 Zino’s Palace has nine rooms, spread over three floors, restaurant, bar, outdoor pool, patio with terrace and lots of history. The palace and the attached chapel – the Chapel of Santo António – emerged in the late 19th century, as the summer home of the Zino family. It was later used by the State to house the Madeira Elementary School of Agriculture and later as a primary school.
In 2002, the regional government decided to recover the building, abandoned since 1976, through the Society for the Promotion and Development of the West Zone of Madeira, providing it with conditions to host events. That was how the Palacete dos Zinos came to be called Palacete do Lugar de Baixo.
Now, space responds by the name 1905 Zino’s Palace, inaugurating a new phase, in which it is able to receive guests, but conferences, exhibitions and other events. Cristiano Ronaldo Madeira International Airport is 38 kilometres away.
