Connected to the city, the Puralã Wool Valley Hotel has a giant loom-like facade and the three colours typically associated with wool: raw, dark brown and light brown. As if the wires came from the outer wall to the driveway. Before arriving at the reception you can see several shelves with products from the earth: from clothes to accessories, food and other items.
The hotel has 100 renovated rooms and suites (10 Suites and 2 Romantic Room). Suites are perfect for families, or for those who want to have space to work, since, in addition to the master bedroom, it has a sofa bed and a table with chairs, whether for the convenience of family meals or for meetings.
The room has an equally large bathroom, and is equipped with television (two, one by the bed and another in the living room), hair dryer and minibar. The bed is large and very comfortable and also has desk space, in case you have to work in the room. In the closet, you have the slippers and a bathrobe, which will give you a way to go to the pool and spa – there is a special elevator to get down from the room to the spa or to the pool. In addition to being able to visit Covilhã, the hotel is also the starting point for exploring the Serra da Estrela and its pedestrian paths, enjoying the view of the belvederes, lagoons and the Glacier Valleys, as well as enjoying the ski resort.

The indoor swimming pool is, in fact, one of the assets of this hotel. It has a jacuzzi and is big enough to be able to swim and teach at the same time. Anyone who wants to do physical exercise, beyond the strokes, can go to the gym, where there are several machines to exercise. The hotel also has an outdoor pool, smaller, perfect for hot days in the mountains.
The Spa of Puralã is the place where you will not want to leave … with sauna and hammam, being able to book sessions of massages and aesthetics, Vichy bath, etc. One of the massages signature of the Puralã is precisely made with the touch of the wool – it’s the most special and relaxing experience of massage you’ll ever have, since it is unique and only here you can enjoy it!
On the way to the hotel restaurant you’ll notice the comfortable rooms that are available for guests. Large sofas, televisions and a special room, with pool table, where moments of conviviality are provided.
And next to the bar – where every day there is a new cocktail to try – is a room with small tables, where there is a panel that covers almost the entire wall. It is called “Covilhã and the Woolies”, by Fatima Pereira Nina, artist of the city and stylist. “If the children of Adam sinned, those of Covilhã always carded”, it’s written, among the panels that have several images and messages, showing the urban landscape of the city, the wool industry, weaving, wool and factories.
