dEMM Arquitectura is an award-winning Portuguese architecture company based in Portugal and famous for their several contemporary projects such as ‘Living Foz’. Their main goal is to develop new ideas and concepts in housing which from their point of view are the main areas of focus in architecture.

They also bending the boundaries of space usage and questioning all its different approaches, while always keeping in mind the clients’ modern needs.

Finally, dEMM Arquitectura also believes the idea of creating value through design, which over time they believe becomes a “brand” in its own right.

In this particular project, ‘Living Foz’, they have managed to create lots of beautiful contrasts between light and shadow which is unphased by the usage of white concrete and black glass.

Located near Porto’s coastal area, ‘Living Foz’ is a building composed of a total of fourty flats throughout seven flours. Another highlight of this project is that the architects have left 30% of the project’s area for green spaces.

The building’s lines are simple and geometrical and the surrounding area is filled with green spaces where the residents can wander around and relax.

Last but not least, the building also incorporates suitable energic solutions in a successful attempt to respect nature.
