Based in Madeira, the most internationally awarded Portuguese chain opened on Monday, October 21, a new luxury space by the sea in Funchal: Les Suites at The Cliff Bay. The new five-star hotel is admittedly the protagonist of a new concept, combining tradition, comfort, history and detail. All of this is added in a privileged and incredible area, where two of the group’s most luxurious hotels come together: the existing The Cliff Bay, with the brand new Les Suites.

With its 23 luxury suites, it promises an experience that brings together comfort, tranquillity and history in its elegant and exclusive suites and a new dining concept, Avista. Two century-old houses and a new wing set in lush gardens with amazing views offer you a dream stay. The buildings are connected by beautiful gardens with an infinity pool and unique views of the sea and the famous Funchal bay.

An interior corridor now connects the two hotels and guests have access to two luxury worlds instead of one: with direct access to the sea, salt pool, indoor and outdoor pool, bars, gardens, spa and restaurants including the well-known Il Gallo d´Oro with two Michelin stars.
Space is divided, with the connection and harmony always assured by the gardens and green spaces. In one of the former colonial houses, you will find the reception and two very exclusive suites. In another, Avista: a restaurant with different environments and a team guided by chef Benoît Sinthon. A new, newly built third wing has the remaining 21 luxury suites.
As for the typologies, in this new wing, you will find suites with two options: the suite and the duplex suite, both with large areas including hall, bedroom and closet, living room, marble bathroom and gazebo-style balconies. The 15 regular suites face the Atlantic Ocean, and the nine on the ground floor have access to a private garden. As for the six duplex suites, they each have two bathrooms and a private lift inside the room.
In the centennial house with two exclusive suites, you can sleep in the Master, with 85 square meters and over 30 square meters only on the balcony, two bedrooms and kitchenette; or stay in the Artistic Suite, with 63 square meters of interior space and 16 square meters of balcony.
Guided by chef Benoît Sinthon (from The Cliff Bay’s neighbour and the award-winning Il Gallo d’Oro), the daily Mediterranean menu is managed by Chef João Luz; and the Asian inspired letter is the responsibility of ChefLuísa Castro.
In addition, space is amazingly decorated: in the pavilion, there is a tiled mural by artist Meinke Flesseman and on the top floor, a panel by photographer Henrique Seruca that shows the freshness of the fish from the coast of Madeira.
