Joana Vasconcelos is a renowned Portuguese plastic artist that has been exhibiting her works since the mid-1990s. Her work gained international attention after her participation in the 51st Venice Biennale in 2005, with the piece “A Noiva” (The Bride), when it was installed at the entrance of the main exhibition.
