In UAUCACAU was created in 2014 by Tony Fernandes, a businessman and master chocolatier who invested in artisanal production with the highest quality standards, using typical Madeira products such as Madeira wine, Ginja, Poncha, Mel de Cana, Passion Fruit, Banana, Pitanga, Mango, among others.
There are more than 30 flavours in handcrafted UAUcacau chocolataria, many of them typical of the island, and some linked to the holiday season, such as tangerine or honey cake.
“We have between 35 and 38 different flavours of chocolates and truffles in the display case, mostly with flavours of Madeira,” explains UAUcacau founder Tony Fernandes. To the Belgian chocolate adds typical products of the island: banana, mango, passion fruit, pitanga, Poncha or Madeira wine.
Distributed around the store, with brown walls, reminiscent of chocolate, are bonbons with various fillings, almonds and some cakes and ice cream of their own making. Orders are accepted, with scope for customization. To accompany there are teas and coffee drinks.
