O Abocanhado
With a unique view over the Homem River valley, we find the architecturally delicious restaurant O Abocanhado. Carefully mentored by a Porto born and raised couple, o Abocanhado has become a symbol of modern architecture, in a valley designed millions of years ago. Its name derives from a hundred-year-old expression, commonly used by the noble people of Brufe, “o tempo abocanhou”, which means that the weather has eased, so to speak. Appearing on
the slope of the valley like a sunray of modern design, the magnificent restaurant lies on the fringes of the candied village of Brufe, towering on the naturally designed terraces of the valley. The delicacy of the architecture contrasts with the rocky outcrops present in its surroundings, complementing each other as if both had been works of the same architect.

Their menus change seasonally to incorporate the freshest and most organic products available on the market. The Largo do Paço restaurant balances the menus between the traditional and the contemporary, the simple and the sophisticated. A true must-visit in the region.

Casa de Chá da Boa Nova
As we enter the space, we realize the majesty of the Atlantic Ocean, which almost transports us to the time of the Discoveries. Chef Rui Paula has an unorthodox way of surprising his clients, taking them to another level of gastronomic experiences, in a symbiotic vision where he really wants to make himself known. The uniqueness of the building that houses the restaurant stands out from the rest. Result of the architectural genius of the great Alvaro Siza Vieira, the property is one of the most emblematic works of the renowned architect. Born from the stones, and hand in hand with the sea, it is classified as a National Monument and integrated in the International Roadmap of Architecture, which can be visited by prior appointment through the House of Architecture.

The Yeatman
The extraordinary panorama of the Douro River and the Historic Center of Porto guarantee a unique setting, coupled with the attribution of two Michelin stars in the 2017 Guide. Providing a unique wine and gastronomic experience, the Yeatman introduces you to a kitchen of imagination in which the flavours of the Portuguese traditional cuisine are reinterpreted and presented in a contemporary style. It presents the enormous variety of fish and fresh ingredients, as well as the diversity of regional gastronomic specialties. With a rather complete list of Portuguese wines and a wide selection of other excellent imported wines, the restaurant pays particular attention to the combination of wine and gastronomy. A menu sampling program allows guests to discover the richness and the perfection of the wine and gastronomy links and the contrasting taste differences, as if they were participating in a trip through the distinct wine regions of Portugal.

Pedro Lemos
Opening its doors in 2009, Pedro Lemos is seen as one of the best restaurants in the city. After five years of activity, the restaurant became the first establishment in Porto to be awarded a Michelin star. It is located in a beautiful house classified as architectural heritage, in Foz do Douro. Pedro Lemos honors nature, products and seasonality. A visit at this restaurant would not be completed without experiencing its extraordinary wines. Besides representing the passion and hard-work of everyone involved at Pedro Lemos, the wine cellar is composed of a wide range of wines, from north to south of the country as well as international wines.

Antiqvvm
Dating back to the 19th century, with all the inaccuracies that time has brought, Quinta da Macieirinha is now in a new configuration. A space where you can not only count on the monumental beauty of the building and the gardens surrounding it, but also with a privileged and unique landscape in the city Invicta. To all this, add a masterful kitchen – by the excellent hand of Chef Vitor Matos – and a wine list not less enviable. The menu of this fantastic restaurant located on the bank of the river Douro, is based on its creation, the culture of taste where “making food” is replaced by “cuisine”. The chef’s cuisine is based on key pillars … Influences, the traditions and cultures and the
globalization itself. The products respect above all their respective origins, of biodiversity, of seasonality, of regionalism, trying their best to maintain sustainability.
