Belcanto
Awarded with two stars of the Michelin guide, the Belcanto first opened its doors in 1958 in Chiado. Its privileged location in Lisbon’s historic centre, the discreet service and its refined cuisine, quickly conquered the elites of the Portuguese capital. The Belcanto, by the hand of chef José Avillez, opened in 2012, with a completely new face. That same year, the restaurant was awarded with a star of the Michelin guide and, in 2014, gained its second one, being the first restaurant in Lisbon with this incredibly high distinction. Restaurant Salpoente

Upon entering the exceptional restaurant, one can observe a marvelous Nambam panel, covered in gold leaf. Furthermore, the metal cubes suspended on the ceiling create an elegant and welcoming ambience. Portuguese linens featuring Feitoria’s monogram decorate the dining tables, the tableware is selected according to the guest’s choice, guaranteeing a unique experience. When speaking of Feitoria, it is impossible not to mention the importance of the wine. The restaurant contains a wine cellar within the walls, protected by a gold metallic mesh. João Rodrigues is the signature Chef of the restaurant. The restaurant is located in the heart of Lisbon’s business district, overlooking the entire city and surrounded by lavish gardens. Way more than simply a restaurant, Eleven is a place of culture and art, both at the table and beyond it. The architecture of the purpose-built building is modern, minimalist and organic,
using natural materials like wood and decorative stones, and boasting enormous glass windows that open towards Lisbon and the river Tejo. The restaurant witnesses a metamorphosis during the day as it adapts to the changing effect of the outside light and the views over Lisbon. Drapes, candles, soft lights, music; all is transformed to create an atmosphere that is vibrant during the day and intimate at night. The food is the result of Chef Joachim Koerper’s skills, of merging his own identity with the restaurant’s location.
