Azure: The Coolest (And With The Best View) Restaurant In Carcavelo’s Beach ♦ The new restaurant of the Campus of Carcavelos da Nova SBE – Faculty of Economics of the New University of Lisbon – is one of the obligatory spots of Cascais. The Food Collection group, responsible for space, was inspired by the proximity of the restaurant to the sea to create this innovative concept that has attracted more and more customers. Azure was born on October 16, 2018. The Italian name means ‘blue sky’, is a tribute to the view of the beach of Carcavelos and the predominance of Italian cuisine on the menu. The objective was to create the ideal space to receive people from the faculty (students, faculty and staff) and, simultaneously, residents in the area surrounding the university campus.
Mediterranean dishes from the Italian and Portuguese cuisines are served here. Azure’s letter respects the seasonality of the products. So there are suggestions that change every month on the menu. On the other hand, the salads, pizzas, pasta, carpaccios and fish and meat dishes are fixed and are very popular with customers.
From Monday to Sunday there are special menus of the day whose prices vary between € 8.50 and € 12.50. If you do not want this option, there are alternatives with different prices. Azure’s executive chef, Paulo André, prepares prawn risotto every day (€ 9.80) or octopus in the oven with Port wine and rosemary (€ 13.95). To accompany, choose one of the quality wines from the restaurant’s bottle selection.
Among the highlights of the menu are the Portuguese sausage and cheese board (€ 8.10), carbonara (€ 9.10) and duck leg (€ 11.95). In the desserts section, NiT suggests the petit gâteau of pumpkin (€ 4.50), the cheesecake (€ 6.50) or the cheese pudding of the mountain (€ 4.50).
The Azure is about 400 square meters, with 200 seats in the interior (divided into two rooms). But what is really worth it is to enjoy one of the 30 places on the terrace overlooking the beach and the sea of Carcavelos. The light is incredible. The restaurant also has a paid parking lot, perfect to go to the beach rested.
The blue colour is predominant on the counter and sofas where guests sit down to eat, surrounded by an environment with an elegant, minimalist and discreet decor. In addition to serving every day as a restaurant, Azure provides catering at various events held at New SBE.
