The Museum, a new pop-up restaurant in Lisbon’s Largo da Trindade, has already opened, resulting from a project by the Catalan ONA – which, it should be recalled, had already opened Ona at the Costa da Caparica in 2019 Beach.
The temporary restaurant in Chiado, until February, aims to be a versatile space, including a wine shop, a contemporary art gallery and providing experiences such as dining at the chef’s table or having a cocktail in the lounge.
In front of the Trinity Theater, The Museum’s feature is to include an art gallery, which is due to the collaboration between ONA, The Art Gate and art curators Leonor Carrilho and Joana Valsassina, responsible for the exhibitions. In addition to the art gallery, the restaurant and lounge shelves will feature jars of vegetables, plants and spices – giving rise to the name The Museum.
This ONA concept focuses on providing “an exceptional culinary experience for a limited period of time”, with new generations of national and international chefs, while also valuing local ingredients and the local producer community.
“We create ephemeral experiences in unexpected places and restaurants. We redesigned the spaces, created an atmosphere, created a new team and a new identity, ”says Luca Pronzato, creator of the ONA project.
ONA, which means Catalan wave, was created in 2019 by Luca Pronzato (a young Frenchman who has made a career in iconic restaurants such as NOMA in Copenhagen) to launch a new concept for restaurants by bringing together a team of young chefs. with talent and set up ephemeral fine dining experiences around the world.
