Mosteiro da Batalha

Projetado em 1386, a mando de D. João I de Portugal, para celebrar a magnânima vitória sobre os castelhanos, cessou obras em 1563. Considerado Património mundial pela UNESCO, o mosteiro vaidosamente ostenta a arte gótica bem como o estilo manuelino. Composto pela igreja, capelas, imponentes claustros e abóbadas e ainda por jardins e imagens minuciosamente trabalhadas por mãos de portugueses, que se espalham por todas as paredes do mosteiro, este é sem dúvida um local de passagem pelos amantes de história e arquitectura.

Designed in 1386, with the order of King João I of Portugal, to celebrate the grand victory against the Castilians, the works finish in 1563. Considered to be part of the World heritage by UNESCO, the Batalha Monastery gifts us Gothic art as well as the typically Portuguese Manueline style. Composed by the church, the chapels, imposing cloisters, domes and also gardens and images meticulously hand-crafted by the Portuguese people, this is undoubtedly a place of passage for lovers of history and architecture.
